Surf Chem has been established since 1988, with the acquisition of STM Chemicals, and being activated in metal pretreatment systems – according to military specifications – and metal working chemicals. Having, then, as main clients the Greek Arms Industry and other manufacturers of the private sector, Surf Chem was producing iron, zinc and manganese phosphating chemicals, black oxides for protection, cold forming applications for steel and special steel alloys, chromating for aluminum, as well as alkaline and acid cleaners, according to military requirements.

The entry of powder coating in the Greek market, provided Surf Chem the opportunity to design new products for commercial application and to be significantly expanded and developed, as far as painting aluminum profiles and dyeing of household appliances are concerned.
